Eloqua vs Marketo (2026)
Oracle Eloqua and Adobe Marketo Engage are both enterprise marketing automation platforms. Every vendor fact below comes from Oracle or Adobe documentation, checked on 26 October 2026, and links to its source.
Packaging and price
- Oracle sells Eloqua as Basic, Standard and Enterprise cloud services (Oracle Marketing Cloud service descriptions). The Eloqua product page lists no public price.
- Adobe sells Marketo Engage in four packages: Growth, Select, Prime and Ultimate. Each one shows "Get pricing" rather than a public price (Adobe Marketo Engage pricing).
Automation and funnel modelling
- Eloqua's Program Canvas is a drag-and-drop workflow tool. Every program is built from data sources, decisions and actions, and a listener can trigger actions in real time on lead score changes or new contacts (Oracle: Program Canvas).
- Marketo's revenue cycle models track every stage of the funnel, from first interaction to won customer. A new model starts with six revenue stages, and SLA stages can enforce a time limit on a stage (Adobe: Understanding revenue models).
Custom data
Eloqua custom objects store records linked to a contact or an account. Creating new custom objects needs the Standard or Enterprise trim or the Data Tools add-on, and Oracle caps custom contact fields and account fields at 250, pointing to custom objects for field-intensive data (Oracle: Custom objects).
Salesforce integration
- Oracle deprecated the native Eloqua Salesforce integration on 1 February 2021 and recommends the Salesforce Integration app. The integration syncs accounts, contacts, leads and opportunities, and supports closed-loop revenue reporting (Oracle: Integrating Eloqua with Salesforce).
- Marketo syncs with Salesforce continuously, pausing 5 minutes between cycles. The sync is two-way only for leads, contacts and Salesforce campaigns; everything else flows from Salesforce to Marketo, and the first sync can take hours or days (Adobe: Understanding the Salesforce sync).
